Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri conceded his team are going through a tough moment after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Monza in the Italian capital.
The Biancocelesti struggled to find the back of the net and now sit with just four points after the first five rounds of the campaign.
“We were too passive tonight. Maybe a little less so in the second half after the substitutions but we got too passive at times,” explained a frustrated Sarri to DAZN.
“For some reason we fail to transform the important scoring opportunities we create into goals. We had chances to get a victory and close out the game. This is a difficult moment for us but we need to stay calm.”
He added, “It’s strange right now but we need to evaluate to evaluate what is not going right in the environment around the team. The absence of Milinkovic-Savic? He was a strong resource for us, especially towards the end of the match when things got dirty.”
“Right now we’re lacking in physicality. (Matias) Vecino can attack some balls in the area but doesn’t have the same impact.”
