Sassuolo manager Alessio Dionisi did his best to curtail his excitement after his side shocked defending champions Milan this afternoon at the San Siro.

The Neroverdi shocked the Rossoneri, winning 5-2 and further sending Stefano Pioli’s side into crisis.

“We’ve really had to roll up our sleeves this season. Today was a good sign for the future but I’ll let others decide whether or not it’s an important result,” Dionisi told DAZN.

“Hopefully this result gives us more self-esteem and self-awareness. We always try to play our brand of football but things can always go awry when you face a club like Milan.”

He continued, “I liked how we played but I still don’t know if this was the real us today. Our attitude in certain matches was wrong so even if you play well you won’t be able to win.”
