Sassuolo midfielder Maxime Lopez didn’t hold back when asked how he compares to the other deep lying playmakers in Serie A.
Appearing on French Youtube program Le Club des 5, the former Marseille man professed he’s among the league’s best in the role alongside other notable figures.
“Apart from Brozovic, Bennacer, and Lobotka, I think I’m among the best in the league in my role,” stated Lopez.
“If there’s one person in the national team whose footsteps I’d like to follow it’s (Jordan) Veretout, he’s the perfect example.”
Adding, “He played for Nantes, Fiorentina, then Roma before joining Marseille. Now he’s a starter for them and has a role with France.”
