Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli applauded his side’s performance following their 1-0 away victory versus Lecce.
The Neroverdi secured all three points thanks to Kristian Thorstvedt, who scored midway through the second half, earning the team their third victory in their last five league matches.
“We wanted to win at all costs,” Consigli explained to Sky Sport at full time.
“It was a tough match but especially so because of the unworthy state of the pitch. You can’t play football on that.”
He added, “We’ve had good performances over the last month against strong teams. We’ve learned how to suffer and did so tonight.”
“Then (Domenico) Berardi had another good performance. It’s not like today people will just realise it but he should play in a top team.”
