Former Bologna, Milan, and Fiorentina manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has passed away aged 53 following a multi-year battle with leukaemia.
Earlier today, the family of the ex-Roma, Lazio, and Sampdoria fullback announced his passing during the night at a hospital in Rome.
“The Mihajlovic family, including wife Ariadne and children Viktorija, Miroslav, Dusan, and Nikolas wish to communicate the untimely death of their exemplary husband, father, son and brother, Sinisa Mihajlovic,” they wrote.
“He was a unique professional and an extraordinary man who was helpful and kind towards everyone. He fought valiantly against this awful disease. Though, we must thank all of the doctors and nurses who treated him during these years with love and respect.”
“Sinisa will be with us forever.”
Mihajlovic became a fan favorite in recent years thanks to the incredible perseverance he displayed throughout his cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatments—not allowing it to interrupt his managerial duties with Bologna.
