Tonight, former Roma, Inter, and Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti opened up in an interview with Sky Sport, touching on various subjects.
The 64 year-old first addressed this past season’s success with the Partenopei and his decision to leave once the campaign ended.
“I’m more than happy with the enthusiasm and joy I experienced in Napoli,” he began.
“Neapolitans gave me incredible feelings and I’ll always defend them. My decision to take a sabbatical year? You (the media) invented this thing and carried it on, constantly calling it a sabbatical.”
Adding, “All I said was I needed a breather and to sort some things out. The concept of a sabbatical doesn’t fit for me very well but it’s still tough to say if I’ll return next season.”
“I’ve got a young daughter and I want to spend time with her. Right now Napoli deserve different things than what I’m able to give right now.”
