After several weeks of negotiations, Spezia finally formalised the acquisition of striker Eldor Shomurodov from Roma.
The Ligurian side published details of the operation on their website earlier today after the Uzbekistan international completed his medical examinations this morning.
“AC Spezia announces it has acquired on a temporary basis from AS Roma the rights to striker Eldor Shomurodov, who has signed a contract expiring June 30, 2023,” they wrote.
“Born in 1995, Shomurodov grew up in Uzbekistan, in the youth ranks of FK Mash’al, a team in the Uzbek top league with which he made his debut in the first team at the age of 18.”
“In 2015 he moved on to Bunyodkor, also in Uzbekistan’s top league, where he established himself as one of the league’s stars. In 2017, he moved to FC Rostov, scoring 18 league goals and capturing attention from Italian clubs.”
“He joined Genoa in 2020 and his contribution would prove crucial in the Rossoblù’s achievement of avoiding relegation. “
“At the age of 27, Shomurodov is ready to make his contribution to the Eagles’ cause and has chosen to wear the number 14 shirt. Welcome Eldor!”
