Former Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior has quickly found himself surplus to requirements at Aston Villa, despite only recently joining the club in early July. Alongside Enzo Barrenechea, Iling-Junior made the move to Aston Villa this summer, with the deal being separate from Douglas Luiz’s transfer to Juventus for a reported €50m. The duo collectively brought in around €22m after departing Juventus at the start of the transfer window.
However, less than two months into his Premier League journey, Iling-Junior is already seeking a new club. Unai Emery did not include him in the squad for Aston Villa’s 2-1 victory over West Ham on the opening weekend of the season. Reports from The Athletic suggest that Iling-Junior is exploring options for a potential loan move this season. A similar situation may also be unfolding for Barrenechea, who was also left out of Villa’s squad over the weekend.
In a recent tweet, it was mentioned, “New: Samuel Iling-Junior is exploring potential loan options ahead of the summer’s deadline. No decision made yet & will only move if the right move becomes available. 20yo was left out of #AVFC’s squad to face West Ham on Saturday. Story @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/dVeg6p9eTa”
