More behind the scenes information has emerged regarding the first failed attempt to bring Milan and Rafael Leao closer to an agreement for the player’s highly anticipated renewal.
As reported by Tuttomercatoweb, a meeting was held on Tuesday afternoon between Leao’s entourage represented by his father and lawyer Ted Dimvula and Milan’s management. The meeting was also supposed to include a videocall with Jorge Mendes with whom Leao signed on in June, but who is still not fully responsible for Leao’s interests.
The Italian sports outlet reveals that tensions arose between Dimvula and Leao’s father as the lawyer’s financial requests included in the commission fees were deemed too high by all parties involved.
Negotiations are at risk of breaking down as Leao feels misrepresented by the people around him. His current contract with the Rossoneri is set to expire in 2024 and a solution must be found before the end of the year.
