The Future Beckons: Lecce’s Pursuit of Inter Milan’s Rising Star and France U21 Midfielder

IF24 Desk

Lecce is currently in discussions to secure the signing of Lucien Agoume, a midfielder from Inter Milan and the France Under-21 team. Italian outlet FCInterNews has reported that the Serie A club has expressed interest in the 22-year-old player and is currently negotiating with his representative. Agoume is currently a player for Inter and joined the team in 2019. Since then, he has been loaned out to clubs such as Spezia, Brest, and Troyes, with his most successful stint being at Brest during the 2021-22 season.

While Agoume had limited playing time at Inter, making only one appearance during the first half of the recent season, he later joined Sevilla on loan. Despite interest from Marseille during the January transfer window, Sevilla secured his signature and he became a regular starter towards the end of the season.

Sevilla is unlikely to make Agoume’s loan move permanent, and there are reports suggesting that they may consider loaning him back. However, Inter is not inclined to agree to such a deal. FCIN has reported that Lecce is interested in signing Agoume, with their Sporting Director currently meeting with the player’s agent to discuss a potential move. It is unclear at this stage whether Lecce is looking to sign Agoume permanently or on a loan basis.
