Juventus is reportedly in the lead to secure the services of Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, with plans underway to raise the necessary funds to complete the deal this summer. The Dutch international, who is under contract with Atalanta until 2027, is said to have a price tag of at least €55 million.
Despite interest from other clubs, including Liverpool, Juventus has been long-standing suitors for Koopmeiners, and the player himself is keen on staying in Serie A. However, Juventus has previously fallen short of Atalanta’s asking price in negotiations, and they will need to increase their bid to meet the club’s demands.
Juventus is looking to restructure their midfield this summer, having already secured signings of Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa and Khephren Thuram from Nice. Koopmeiners is seen as another key addition to their midfield, and talks are expected to begin soon between Juventus and Atalanta.
Fabrizio Romano, a renowned transfer expert, expects Juventus to make a bid for Koopmeiners ‘really soon’, with negotiations already underway. It remains to be seen if Liverpool or any other club will enter the race for the midfielder, but for now, Juventus seems to be the frontrunners in securing his signature.
