OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo was notably absent from his team’s pre-season friendly against Caykur Rizespor, as his agent engaged in discussions with Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli earlier that same day.
Nice ended up with a 2-2 draw in their pre-season match, with goals from Gaetan Laborde and Victor Orakpo, but Todibo was conspicuously missing from the squad.
Similarly, Matias Soule did not participate in Juventus’ pre-season game against Nürnberg, following news of Roma finalizing a deal with the Bianconeri for his transfer.
The former Barcelona center-back has been the subject of transfer speculation this summer, with Juventus, Manchester United, and West Ham United all being mentioned as potential destinations throughout the transfer window.
Reports indicate that Todibo’s agent was in Italy for face-to-face discussions with Juventus’ Giuntoli on Saturday. It appears that Todibo is considering a move to Turin, potentially putting a hold on negotiations with West Ham.
Sky Sport Italia suggests that Nice would require an offer of around €37m to consider selling their prized center-back this summer.
