Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali praised his team’s preparation in the build-up to their 1-0 win over Spurs in the first leg of their Champions League tie.
An early first half goal from Brahim Diaz was all the Rossoneri needed to secure the victory and gift themselves a slight advantage ahead of next month’s return leg in London.
“It feels nice to win especially coming off a period where we weren’t up to standard,” Tonali told Sportmediaset. “Doing so in the Champions League gives us something extra.”
“After 5-6 minutes, we handled what they threw at us pretty well. It was pretty simple for us to interpret their during the match.”
Adding, “Plus we kept a clean sheet tonight. Conceding goals hurts and we know we can’t do so when we’re in such a delicate moment.”
