The transfer market is heating up and one player who is at the centre of several whispers is Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno.
According to reports from Tuttosport, Napoli and new manager Antonio Conte are keen to acquire the Granata’s captain this summer. The former Chelsea boss recently had an informal chat with the player in a restaurant in Turin to convey his admiration for him.
However, Torino president Urbano Cairo is holding firm on his asking price of €40 million for Buongiorno. This price has been set due to interest from other top clubs, such as Inter, Milan, and some Premier League clubs, with Tottenham being mentioned as a potential suitor.
Despite the high asking price, Napoli are reportedly planning to make an initial offer of €30 million to get ahead of the competition. Negotiations with the player’s entourage have already begun, but Torino may wait until the end of the European Championship to potentially increase their asking price.
