Former Inter striker Christian Vieri weighed in on tonight’s Champions League final between his former club and Manchester City.
The two sides face-off tonight in Turkey at Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic in a showdown that Vieri expects to be entertaining.
“It will be a fun game between two teams that play entertaining football. City play a fun brand of football, with a lot of possession, and they have Haaland up front, a force of nature,” he told UEFA’s official website.
“Inter, on the other hand, also play great football, and have two great strikers, and one on the bench—so three great strikers for two positions. Džeko and Lautaro are likely to start, but Lukaku is in great form. It will be an entertaining match, a great Champions League final.”
Adding, “It’s difficult to compare the current Inter side to mine, because we never played three at the back. However, now, like then, there are great players, great strikers.”
“Inter today have three great strikers who can make a difference at any point. Haaland and Lukaku are similar to me: we’re all left footed, we’re physically big, we’re tall. So we’re similar, both positionally and in terms of physical structure.”
