Ten days remain until the January transfer window officially shuts and there’s still plenty of business to be done before close next Tuesday.

One of the biggest ongoing storylines that has yet to be resolved surrounds Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo. The capital club recently put the attacker up for sale and tasked his agent, Claudio Vigorelli, with gathering offers for his client.

With the club waiting to receive official transfer bids, the 23 year-old asked to be held out of Jose Mourinho’s squad for tomorrow’s league fixture versus Spezia, informing the club he feels unsettled.

Club officials confirmed to IF24 they were blindsided by Zaniolo’s request since they expected him to be fully available after missing last weekend’s win over Fiorentina due to flu-like symptoms.

Nonetheless, Roma are pushing to finalise his sale as soon as possible given the lack of time remaining in the window.

As for potential landing spots, Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton, and Newcastle United have all expressed interest in Zaniolo but still haven’t submitted a formal offer.
