It’s been a rollercoaster 24-hours for Roma and Nicolo Zaniolo, whose club future still remains in the balance.
The attacker handed in a transfer request last week and quickly generated interest from Tottenham, Milan, and Bournemouth. After extensive talks, the Giallorossi ultimately accepted an offer from the Cherries worth €30 million plus €5 million in bonuses in addition to a 10% sell-on clause.
Zaniolo’s preference was to join the Rossoneri, however, the club couldn’t match the English side’s proposal and bowed out of the race earlier today.
Although the capital club and Bournemouth reached an agreement, the attacker hasn’t accepted their offer and is now considering remaining with Jose Mourinho’s side.
The two sides are working to convince Zaniolo to change his stance but there’s an increasing possibility the player could remain in the capital.
