Italy international Nicolò Zaniolo is set to join Atalanta and officially seal his return to Serie A.
The former Aston Villa and Roma striker is on the brink of sealing a deal with the Europa League champions on a loan with an option to buy. Zaniolo, 25, underwent medical tests in Milano before making his way to the Atalanta headquarters in Zingonia to finalise the agreement.
According to Sky Sport transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Atalanta will pay Galatasaray €3.5 million for a one-season loan. The deal also includes an obligation to buy worth €16 million plus €2.5 million in bonuses that’s triggered if Zaniolo appears in 60% of the team’s fixtures.
The move comes just days after La Dea finally reached an agreement with the Turkish side for Zaniolo—successfully fending off interest from Fiorentina.
